School: General Information and Academic Administration of Satit School PBRU


1.1     School Profile
Phetchaburi Rajabhat University Demonstration School has been a leading light in education for high school and junior high school students since 2010. The curriculum is wide ranging covering all subjects with a focus on excellence in science and mathematics in order to achieve high academic and moral standards in society. The school is an integral part of the university and help of the university teachers. The school also has the use of a variety of resources and excellent modern tools for teaching and learning. As a result, students are able to compete at an international level, integrate their knowledge and local wisdom into society to attain high moral standards along with peach and tranquility.
1.2 Academic Support System
Satit school as the demonstration school in PBRU provides the students with a good facilities to support their learning process, such as scientific laboratory, musical laboratory, computer centre, air-conditioned classroom, conference room, activity area, central library, canteen, medical room, sport complex, and university dormitory.  With these kinds of facilities Satit school want to make sure that students are comfortable and get what they need in order to comprehend every lesson that they are taught by the teacher effectively.
The other thing is that Satit school has some activities which Environmental Scientific Camp Biological is supposed to increase students skill in academic. These activities are scientific camp, energy scientific camp world and astronomy scientific camp , engineering camp marine scientific camp , historical ayutthaya camp satit PBRU talent, scientific project, english camp, and IT camp.
1.3     Teaching system
The teaching system that applied by the school is based on science and technology. The teacher gives the theory and also the practice to the students. Students are intended to master both of technology and science, that’s why the teacher in the school also has to master both of them to make the teaching process more effective. Every teacher has their own style in teaching, based on my observation, teachers always trying to use the computer in the class to show the material to the students, it is also use the internet as the source of the lesson. In the ither side, in science, the students are taught how to make a product. Some of the students are succeed to make a kind of invention in technology and also make the imitation of the cell in science class.
1.4. Materials and Other Learning Sources
The materials of the learning process in the school are based on the handbook in which both of teachers and students have. In some cases, teachers also try to find another resource to make an addition to their learning material with browsing in the internet.

1.5     Measurement and Evaluation System
Satit school, the demosntration school of PBRU using range 0 – 4 of scoring the students. From the report that I saw, the scoring sheet for the students is :

This scoring sheet is the guidance for the teacher to gives the score for the students. For the evaluation system, there will be a mid test, and an examination every semester. It will be different between one teacher and other teacher in giving test to the students. It can be a test in a form of quiz after a week or may be after finishing some topics. The other thing is assignment and project that usually done by students. All of their score will be calculated and will be multiplied with 100%.

1.6     Curriculum
The school’s curriculum follows the standard education administration of the Office of the Basic Education Commission of Thailand, Ministry of Education. The learning styles emphasize scientific, technology, mathematics, computer and foreign language procedures. The students also share a resource centre with the university students.

1.7     Teaching Plan

1.1      Planning for teaching Every teacher has their own way of teaching, but curriculum, syllabus, teaching plan and handbook are their guidance to teach the students in the classroom. 1.     Teaching Methods If you take a look on every teaching methods that teachers do, you will see the differences. Let’s just say that there are teacher A, B, and C and all of them will have schedule to teach the same level in different time. Let’s start with teacher A, I can say that this kind of teacher is a kind of normal teacher where they will open the class just as usual and then tell the students about what are they going to do in the classroom today. We can say that as a “speech” method. But, the combination between “speech” and “grouping” or “work in team” will make the lesson more interactive. Teacher A combine the methods and gives the students more time to do excercise rather than focus on giving the material to students by speech. 1.1       Procedures of Teaching Just after entering the school, the director and my advisor help me a lot to make a schedule for me, for my observation, being teacher assistant and of course to teach the students. Both of the director and my advisor have a great work, and also my buddies in this school, so I can understand what should I do and what should I teach to the students. They provide me a schedule to see what time that I will have a chance to observe, being the teacher assistent and when to teach the students in the classroom. Based on that schedule, I can prepare myself for my teaching activity.
